In Verbier, skiers spread out over the various mountains that make up the 4 Vallées region, the largest ski area in Switzerland. From the highest points, it is possible to see the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc appearing in the landscape.
At night, one of the most famous après-skis in the Alps begins. The excitement moves to the small village of Verbier, which jumps from 3,000 inhabitants to 30,000 in winter. Thanks to this combination of elements, the resort caters to a well-defined audience. There are indeed areas for beginners at the foot of the mountains, but the most experienced skiers are those who maximize what the resort has to offer.

GASTRONOMY
In the village: The gastronomic options in the city are quite democratic. There are from casual and relaxed restaurants, such as Borsalino and Fer à Cheval, to gourmets, such as Brasserie V, La Cordée and La Table d’Adrien. To taste a little of the local cuisine, which stands out for its fondues and raclettes, the tip is to go to La Grange, Le Caveau or Le Grenier. On the mountain: La Vache, hidden among the snowy peaks, at 2700 meters above sea level, belongs to the singer James Blunt and has a very varied menu. It's worth making a stop at the Ice Cube, 2200 meters above Verbier, which has incredible views of the snow-covered Petit Combin mountain and a delicious croque-monsieur. And at Le Monton Noir, the outdoor terrace is an attraction in itself.
WHAT TO DO BEYOND SKIING
There are many options for activities in Verbier: climbing walls, paragliding, skydiving, showshoeing trails and sled trails. To relax after so many adventures, good options are the Spa by Valmont and the Away Spa, the latter with treatments signed by La Prairie. Among the options for indoor tours, the Verbier Cinema stands out, which was built in 1956, but has a modern infrastructure. Le Musée de Bagnes maintains historic buildings for those who want to learn a little about the history of the region.
ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS
Children between the ages of 3 and 6 can spend the whole day playing and learning to ski at the Kid’s Club Verbier, which is part of the Swiss Ski School. The space has games, magic carpets, special lifts and also serves lunch for the little ones. Another option is the Petit Verbier babysitting team, which picks up the children from the ski school, takes care of their lunch and organizes outdoor games.
SHOPPING
The village has good options for sports stores, from multi-brand Xtreme and Fellay to Patagonia and The North Face units. Terracota is a good place to buy home decor and antiques, and Verbier Art has creative jewelry and trinkets. Winter clothes for children can be found at Igloo Júnior, which since 1987 has been selling very colorful pieces. Another highlight is the Mac Birch Wine Shop, a cellar that houses some of the best wine vintages in the world.
NIGHT LIFE
Nightlife is one of Verbier's strengths. When the slopes close, practically everyone is at some bar enjoying the après-ski. It can be at Le Rouge, which is always livened up by a DJ, or at W Off-Piste, with special drinks. Later, the action moves on to places like The Farm Club, a nightclub that is an institution in the city, or the Cave Sushi Bar, a cool Japanese restaurant that turns into a nightclub after 11 pm.
